Frequently asked questions

  • New Clients Welcome!

To ensure a smooth booking experience for all our guests, we kindly ask that all first-time appointments be made online. This allows you to easily choose the perfect time slot and service for your needs.

When booking your appointment, you'll be required to have a valid credit card on file. However, your card will not be charged at the time of booking. It will only be used in the case of a late cancellation (with less than 24 hours' notice) or a no-show appointment.

  • Respectful Reminders:

Out of respect for your time and mine, I kindly request at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows me to offer that time slot to another client.

Life happens! If something unexpected comes up, please don't hesitate to let me know as soon as possible.

    Cancellation Fees:

Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. You can find the full details of my cancellation policy here or by calling/texting/emailing me at 209.456.0062.

    We appreciate your understanding!

  • Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early for your appointment! This allows you time to:

    Relax and settle in

    Use the restroom

Discuss your skin goals and background (for new clients)

Catch up on what's new (for returning clients)

Running a bit late? We understand! Please call or text us as soon as possible to let us know. However, arriving significantly late (more than 15 minutes) may affect the length of your treatment or require rescheduling to avoid impacting other guests.

Mahalo (Thank you) for your understanding!

  • Maintain Your Radiant Glow:

For consistent progress on your skin goals, I recommend scheduling facials every 4-6 weeks. This allows us to work together to achieve the results you desire, keeping your skin healthy and beautiful.

Seasonal Support: Facials at least once per season can help your skin adapt to the changing weather. This can minimize seasonal breakouts or dryness, keeping your home skincare routine effective year-round.

Celebrate You! And who doesn't love a birthday treat? Schedule a facial on your special day to indulge and pamper yourself!

  • Enjoy your post-facial glow! Here are some aftercare tips to keep your skin looking radiant:

Protect your skin: Avoid direct sunlight for the next few days and be sure to wear SPF every 2 hours when you are outdoors.

Skip the exfoliation: Hold off on exfoliating your skin for 48-72 hours after your facial to allow it to recover.

Purging: Sometimes after a facial, you may experience breakouts (purging). This is normal and indicates your skin is clearing impurities. Resist the urge to pick! Let your skin clear up naturally.

Have questions? Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns about your skin after your facial.

  • Getting your first wax? Here's what to expect!

Grow it out! For the best waxing experience, avoid shaving for at least 3 weeks beforehand. This allows the hair to reach the ideal length for easy removal (about the size of a grain of rice).

Exfoliate for smooth results: Exfoliate the area you're getting waxed 24 hours before your appointment and 48 hours after. Gentle exfoliation 3 times a week helps prevent ingrown hairs.

How often to wax: Most people need waxing appointments every 4-6 weeks, depending on their hair growth cycle. We'll discuss this during your appointment.

Free touch-up guarantee: We want you to be thrilled with your results! If you notice any hairs left behind within a week, please contact us for a complimentary touch-up.

  • For the best waxing experience, please be aware of the following:

Certain medications can affect waxing: If you are using Retin-A, Differin, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, or Beta Hydroxy Acids, it's advisable to discontinue use for 10-14 days before your appointment. These medications can make your skin more sensitive to waxing.

Accutane and waxing: We cannot wax clients who have been on Accutane within the last 6 months. Accutane can significantly thin the skin, making waxing unsafe.

Consult with your doctor: If you have any concerns about medications or skin conditions, we recommend speaking with your doctor before booking a waxing appointment.

We prioritize your safety and want to ensure a positive waxing experience!

  • Of course not. A properly removed waxed hair is removed from the root. When the new hair starts to grow back it is a new hair with a very fine tip. So no more troubled stubble, unlike the effects of shaving.

  • Get ready for a smooth, comfortable wax! Here are some helpful tips:

Hydration is key: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Well-hydrated skin waxes more easily and feels better afterwards.

Let your hair grow: For best results, you'll need at least 3-4 weeks of hair growth. Shorter hair makes waxing more difficult.

Exfoliate for smooth results: Exfoliate the area you're getting waxed 24 hours before your appointment. This removes dead skin cells and allows for a closer wax. Avoid exfoliating on the day of your appointment, as it can irritate the skin.

Clean and dry is ideal: Skip the oils and lotions on the day of your wax. Wax adheres best to clean, dry skin.

Reduce sensitivity (optional): If you're prone to discomfort, consider taking a mild pain reliever like ibuprofen about 30 minutes before your appointment.

Comfy clothes are best: Wear loose-fitting clothing after your wax to minimize irritation and prevent ingrown hairs.

Mahalo (Thank you) for following these tips! They'll help you have a relaxing and positive waxing experience.

  • Here's how to keep your skin glowing after your wax:

Cool it on the sun: Avoid direct sunlight on the waxed area for at least 24 hours.

Hydration hero: Continue to drink plenty of water to keep your skin happy and healthy.

Hands off! It might be tempting to touch your smooth skin, but resist! Your hands can harbor bacteria.

Take it easy: Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Sweat and bacteria can irritate freshly waxed skin.

Hold off on the hot spots: Skip hot tubs, pools, saunas, and the ocean for 24 hours.

Soothe and protect: Avoid fragranced lotions and soaps for at least 12 hours. Opt for gentle, fragrance-free products.

Exfoliate strategically: The wax has already exfoliated your skin, so wait 48 hours before exfoliating again. Gentle exfoliation 3 times a week thereafter helps prevent ingrown hairs.

Mahalo (Thank you) for following these aftercare tips! They'll help you enjoy your smooth skin for longer.
